EXPLORING FEELINGS: DVD
If you have difficulty understanding what you and those around you are feeling, the world can be a confusing and frustrating place. Misinterpretation of social and physical events can result in feelings of anxiety, depression, and anger.
With education and guidance, individuals with these challenges can learn how to understand and cope with their feelings in positive ways. In this intriguing presentation, world-renowned psychologist Dr. Tony Attwood teaches caregivers how to implement cognitive behaviour therapy. This therapy helps people effectively work through their emotions by developing their ability to interpret the causes and effects of their own actions and reactions. Dr. Attwood offers important advice on: assessing emotional needs; avoiding and correcting misinterpretation of emotion; building self-esteem and improving self-awareness; managing anxiety, depression, and anger; and defining physical and social tools.

EXPLORING FEELINGS
EXPLORING FEELINGS: ANGER WORKBOOK
Winner of a 2008 Teachers’ Choice Award! Many children, especially those with developmental delays, have trouble understanding or expressing their feelings. The result can be difficulty with anger management. Listing possible responses to situations—and the likely outcome of each one—allows the child to make informed decisions about which responses to choose (walking away vs. hitting). This book provides a guide for caregivers and then the workbook portion asks children to identify situations that trigger their anger and find appropriate ways to respond.

EXPLORING FEELINGS: ANXIETY WORKBOOK
Winner of a 2008 Teachers’ Choice Award! Anxiety can be debilitating for anyone, but it can be especially confusing for a child. Learning about emotions helps children recognize connections between thinking and feeling, and helps them identify the physiological effects of anxiety on the body (sweating, increased heart rate, crying, etc.).
This book provides a guide for caregivers and then the workbook section allows children to identify situations that make them anxious and learn how to perceive the situation differently.

Bless Tony Attwood! This is a Godsend!
This is another work that deserves a place of honor. Dr. Attwood does a sterling job of helping people with autism/Asperger's (a/A) decode facial expressions and identify and discuss feelings. Asperger's (AS) is a neurobiological condition that affects sensory integration, processing and communication. People on the a/A spectrum lack inuitive knowledge of "being able to adopt viewpoints from another's shoes," so this is something that is cognitively learned. Dr. Attwood does a magnificent job of providing those cognitive teaching tools.
Tony Attwood is one of the leading experts on a/A and his work is one that all people, parents, professionals, educators, people on the spectrum and neurotypical counterparts alike will find useful and invaluable. Hats off to Tony Attwood!
