For Parents This is an ideal opportunity for parents who are seeking a greater understanding of the treatments that are available and how this disorder effects their family, specifically the siblings of ASD children, presented by Dr. Sandra Harris. In addition, Dr. Stephen Edelson will help you gain a greater understanding of your child’s behaviors and assist you in determining if the treatments are really working. In helping you look at social skill building, Dr. Jeanette McAfee will present treatments and help understanding this complex area. Stephen Shore comes with a vast amount of knowledge and will assist us in beginning to look at medical issues and provide a greater understanding in how the schools can better accommodate to meet their child’s needs. Indeed, this will be two days packed with valuable insight and new strategies to help you maximize your child’s success.
For Professionals The conference provides valuable practical knowledge for service providers and teachers as we help the professionals look at solutions to address behaviors and how to help the family. Gain a greater understanding and knowledge in teaching students social skills and in addressing new and innovative ways to accommodate for the unique needs of the ASD population. In addition, you will find enlightening and simple ways to monitor treatment progress so you can more accurately alter programs and treatment directions as needed.
