Lori and Andy are the husband-wife team which developed PECS (the Picture Exchange Communication System) -- a unique augmentative communication system that has been invaluable to many children and adults who experience difficulty using speech as a primary mode of communication.
Lori A. Frost, M.S., CCC SLP is a certified speech/language pathologist. She has worked with children with limited communication and severely challenging behavior for over 20 years. Lori leads workshops and consults to schools and programs regionally, nationally, and internationally regarding the development of functional communication skills for children and adults with autism and related disabilities.
Andy Bondy, Ph.D. has over 30 years' experience working with children and adults affected by autism and related developmental disorders. He served for more than a dozen years as the Director of the state-wide Delaware Autistic Program.
Dr. Bondy and his colleague Beth Sulzer-Azaroff designed the Pyramid Approach to Education -- a combination of broad-spectrum behavior analysis and functional communication strategies that aims to help professionals and parents design effective educational environments for children and adults with developmental disabilities within school, community, and home settings. Pyramid Educational Consultants, Inc. is an internationally-based, multidisciplinary team of specialists who collaborate to develop functional communication skills independent of modality.
