"Little
Rainman" gives a more simplistic and comprehensive explanation
of this strange disorder than any other book we have seen. Written
through the eyes of her child, Karen gives the reader a unique view
of autism that explains the challenge in a very "user friendly"
manner.

"Little Rainman" shows that autism can be seen and understood
by everyone. After reading this book full of miraculous pictures,
I feel greater love, compassion and understanding of a situation that
somehow touches us all sooner or later."
Mark
Victor Hansen, Co-creator Chicken Soup for the Soul
After
my near death experience in 1994, I felt divinely inspired to write
a book. At the time, I thought it was to be about the experience itself.
I tried and nothing came. Not until I attended an autism conference
did I get chills and goosebumbs thinking about this book. The words
began to just flow through me.
The reason I wrote this book was to help autistic childern -- along
with their parents, teachers and sibilings -- understand as early
as possible the real world of autism. That's why I'm so excited about
the audio version of my book. On the original recording, my daughter
Christina, who was ten at the time, had the perfect pitched voice
to read the book and sound just like Jonathan. Today, for the first
time, you can actually hear the sounds detailed in the book. The audio
version of this book is a MUST HAVE for anyone wanting to know what
it's like to be a person with autism and understand what it's like
to experience autism firsthand.
Tom Parish (music and sound effects specialist) and Sonora Lee (a
music therapist who works with children with autism) did an amazing
job of capturing the autism experience explained in the book through
sounds and music. What they added to my story was so captivating that
I had to share it with all of you.
Sonora Lee
Creative, light-hearted, and highly conversant in the world of sound
and music, Sonora Lee works side-by-side with her clients to artistically
direct a production. A licensed music therapist and a performer, Sonora
combines education, experience, and the most recent digital technology
to brighten the waves with color and sound.
As
a student, Sonora arranged and directed professional radio jingles,
rehearsed ensembles for Kansas City churches, managed bands (rock‘n'roll
and jazz), and coordinated rehearsal space for university students,
including an 80-piece accordion orchestra.
Sonora
presently works at her Blue Frog Studios in Austin where she teaches,
arranges, and records. Her students have won local and national awards
in piano, voice, and composition. Sonora can be reached at sonora@SoundsInMind.com
