 Billy's Haircut
It recently took for 5 grown men to give Billy a buzz haircut. It was ultimate chaos that day. It was what he feared the most the clippers. There was about 10 of us one morning at my mothers house we told Billy he was going to get a hair cut. He yells "NO HAIRCUT" and then says "OK, OK CALM DOWN CALM DOWN". We got him to sit in the chair on his own but when the Buzzer started going he started to run. We held his legs, arms and head down. By Kathy Vigil[More]

Kids with Autism have Feelings too
Dear Pat,
I am sorry for the seat, but I got angry because of Nicholas, because he’s annoying me sometimes (99.9% of the time he is) and he’s on the first bus I get on to go to school. He throws leftover chocolate Jello pudding (in a container with holes on the lid) at me when he’s getting off, and it gets my clothes dirty (mom doesn’t want me to wear dirty clothing). While he’s on, he and his friend gang up on me (and, occasionally, tell other big kids to do it) and they occasionally move from seat to seat to get at me! By Jonny Sicoli

 The Color of Love
When my daughter Gina was a toddler, she'd ask me every night what color love is. Her question soon grew into a game, and we recited the same rhyme every night: "Sunday's love is pink, Sunday's love is pure; the petal pink, the purest pink, a puppy's warm, wet tongue." by Liane Gentry Skye [More]

Talking In Pictures: How David Found His Voice
There was a time when I couldn't take my five-year old son out. David is autistic. His inability to communicate his wants and needs to us made our lives a never-ending guessing game. We used trial and error to try and determine what it was David wanted to tell us as he had no method of functional communications. by Liane Gentry Skye [More]

An Inspirational Journey Through Autism. A True Story Of Beating The Odds And Winning
I would like to begin by dedicating this special day to my parents who were determined not to be ignored and never give up. And to my grandmother who broke my silence and got me to talk. I was diagnosed with autism at eighteen months. My parents and I were living in Germany. The diagnoses was made by a military psychiatrist. by Jerimie W. Goike [More]
